Ground Turkey Meatloaf

Ahhh Turkey Meatloaf. When I serve my family this meal, I feel like I’m taking good care of them.

This recipe combines quickly and makes the house smell lovely as it cooks.

 

Butter your pan.

Mix it all up.

Press it into that buttery pan. Bake.

Collect the glaze ingredients.

Mix. Smear the glaze on after 50 minutes.

Bake again for 20 minutes and viola! Beautiful dinner!

Ground Turkey Meatloaf

Ground turkey, parmesan cheese,  bread crumbs and seasonings combine together in this recipe in perfect harmony. Savory, comforting and high in protein, it's a great choice on the weekly meals lineup. Ground turkey meatloaf leftovers are also just as tasty re-heated the next day, or made into meatloaf sandwiches.

Ingredients

For the Meatloaf

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 cup onion, diced
  • 1/2 cup Italian seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped fine or 2 tsp dried parsley
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper

For the Glaze

  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp mustard

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F degrees. Butter the inside of a loaf pan. 

  2. Sauté the diced onions in olive oil over medium heat until soft and translucent.

  3. Mix together ground turkey, sautéed onions, breadcrumbs, parmesan cheese, egg, Worcestershire sauce, parsley, salt and pepper. 

  4. Form into a loaf shape and press mixture into the prepared loaf pan.        Bake for 50 minutes. 

  5. While meatloaf is baking, mix together the brown sugar, ketchup and mustard for the glaze. Set aside. 

  6. After meatloaf has cooked for 50 minutes, remove from oven, add the glaze and return the pan to the oven. Bake for an additional 15-20 minutes. Internal temperature should reach 165 F degrees. 

Recipe Notes

Saved leftovers can be made into meatloaf sandwiches.
