Easy Brownies From Scratch

Easy Brownies are inexpensive, fast, made from scratch and the best brownies that you’ll ever make.

Use this Easy Brownies From Scratch recipe any time you need a quick treat for life, as a gift, or an event. I whipped up a batch for my daughter’s drama club meeting and the kids devoured them.

In fact, my kids ask for these brownies as an alternative to birthday cake.

Give them a try and let me know what you think.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 3 eggs
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line a 9×9 baking pan with parchment paper. Alternatively, if you don’t have parchment paper, grease the pan instead.

  2. In a large bowl, mix together the oil, sugar and vanilla. Add in the eggs, one at a time until well combined. Set aside while you work on the dry ingredients.

  3. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt.

  4. Now add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients slowly, about 1/2 cup at a time until everything is well combined.

  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.

  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes. Check for doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center of the brownies. Brownies are done when the toothpick comes out clean. If the toothpick comes out wet, cook brownies for 5 more minutes and then check again.

  7. Allow brownies to cool for at least 10 minutes on a wire rack in the pan before removing and cutting.
